•Alameda Development Corp.– An Alameda based non-profit housing development corporation.

•Habitat for Humanity – Describes Habitat projects and services in Alameda and Western Contra Costa Counties.
Sentinel Fair Housing – Provides tenants and landlords with information about their rights and responsibilities, landlord/tenant dispute mediation, and housing discrimination investigation.
Unity Council HomeOwnership Center – Provides first-time home ownership opportunities and educational seminars and workshops for lower income residents of Alameda County.

Government

Alameda County Fair Housing Office Offers contact information for local fair housing offices that provide assistance to both landlords and tenants. They also help mediate discrimination and other housing complaints.
Alameda County Housing Authority – Provides rental assistance to over 5,000 low income households in cities that do not have a Housing Authority of their own.
Alameda County Housing and Community Development Department Plays a lead role in the development of housing and programs to serve the county’s low and moderate income households, homeless, and disabled populations in the County.
Alameda County Lead Poisoning Prevention Program – Provides information and technical assistance to prevent lead poisoning and reduce residential lead hazards such as lead-based paint, soil and dust.
Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) – Information about regional planning, local governments, earthquakes, and a great section on a publication examining the trends and challenges facing the SF Bay area.
California Department of Consumer Affairs – Helps Californians become informed consumers by learning their rights and protection afforded them. Includes information on obtaining the publication “California Tenants,” which explains tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities under California State Law. This publication is also available at all Alameda Public Library branches.
California Department of Housing and Community Development
– Provides leadership, policies and programs to expand and preserve safe and affordable housing opportunities and promote strong communities for all Californians.
California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) – Offers information on homeownership, asset management, small business development, and other programs.
California State Teacher's Retirement Program – Offers information on homebuyer assistance and loan programs for teachers in California.

Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
– Information and links on Federal programs concerning housing, homelessness, and community issues.
Government Information Locator Service (GILS) – Identifies public information resources within the Federal Government, describes the information available in these resources, and assists in obtaining the information.

Consumer Credit Counseling of the East Bay (CCCS) Provides Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano County residents a variety of free and low-cost counseling and education services designed to help all segments of our population take control of their finances and gain financial peace of mind. CCCS also runs first-time homebuyer workshops.
Fannie Mae – A shareholder-owned mortgage company that owns foreclosed homes. Fannie Mae's mission is to provide affordable housing and homeownership for low, moderate, and middle income Americans.
Freddie Mac – A stockholder-owned corporation chartered by Congress in 1970 to create a continuous flow of funds to mortgage lenders in support of homeownership and rental housing.
